This application is a valuable tool for structural and mechanical engineers, specifically designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It effectively calculates the mechanical and structural properties of three-plate built-up section members, including moment of inertia, section modulus, radius of gyration, cross-sectional area, and weight. Notably, calculations are executed along both principal axes.

This software proves particularly beneficial for the analysis and design of indeterminate structures as well as for determining actual and permissible stresses.

Users can input dimensions such as top flange width, top flange thickness, bottom flange width, bottom flange thickness, web depth, and web thickness. The dimensions of the top and bottom flanges are flexible, allowing for customization based on specific project requirements.

The application offers access to an extensive library of hot-rolled shapes, including European IPE, HEA, HEB, HEM sections; American W shapes; Canadian W metric shapes; and British universal beams and columns (UB and UC shapes). Future releases will introduce additional shapes from other countries at no extra cost to current users.

Input options accommodate both millimeter and inch units, with outputs such as area, Ixx, Sxx, Sxt, Sxb, Iyy, Iyt, Iyb, Syy, rx, ry, rt, rb, Syt, Syb, depth, and neutral axis available in either unit system. Weight can also be presented in kg/m or lb/ft.
